Summit and David Bowie

For those who haven't heard, Summit is releasing it's first new variety in several years. Horizon Red Ale is in bars right now, although apparently the release there has been limited. Since I can't remember the last time I was in a bar (no, not like that), I'll have to wait for it to appear in retail stores. My local liquor store tells me they will have 6-packs available starting April 28. You can read about it here. It's all very exciting if you ask me. Super hoppy beer from Summit? Sounds right up my alley.

The other exciting tidbit for today (4/18) is that Amazon has David Bowie's Heroes album available for download today for just $1.99. It's lovely. I have never given Bowie enough credit for his music. Much of it is astounding.

Lastly, since I am always supposed to include pictures in my posts, here is a pic from right before Easter:

I assume you've tried the new Summit by now? Whaddya think? I had a glass at Grumpy's the other night. Gotta try it again, but I wasn't overly impressed. The hops were there, body was nice, but it tasted a bit skunky to me - the hops weren't snappy fresh (like I've come to expect, maybe spoiled, from Furious and others like that). I was left with an 'old' taste in my mouth. not bad, and it will be drunk again, but not great.
btw, David Bowie is excellent. It's been overplayed on my stereo, but I still love Hunky Dory the most I'd say...just got Lodger on vinyl recently - pretty good, the most poppy of his Berlin trilogy.
